Allegations of Benefits Taken Turned into a Petit Larceny Charge

The defendant was arrested in the Town of Seneca (Rts. 5&20) and charged with one (1) count of petit larceny as it is alleged by the Ontario County Department of Social Services that Miss Freeland received $714.63 in Public Assistance (cash) and Food Stamps from August 8, 2012 through October 31, 2012, which she was not entitled to receive. The allegation is based on Miss Freeland's household composition changing, which was not reported to the Ontario County Department of Social Services. Miss Freeland was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Geneva City Court on March 24, 2014 @ 8:30a.m. to answer the charge.
