DWI, Harassment and Additional Charges Sends Naples Man to Jail

On July 17, 2012 at about 11:57 PM, Sheriffs Deputies made a traffic stop on 55 year old Edward DeClercq of Naples after his vehicle failed to keep right and crossed the center line. Through the invesigation, it was determined that Mr. DeClercq was intoxicated and he was arrested for DWI. Mr. DeClercq submitted to a Breath test which revealed that he had a BAC over . 18%. Additional charges of Aggravated Driving While Inotxicated have subsequently been filed. Mr. DeClercq was issued apperance tickets and will appear in Naples Town Court at a later date.

Edward was arrested and charged with Aggravated Hatasssment in the Second Degree as well. The defendant allegedly sent three text messages to a woman who resides in the Village of Naples. Edward had been advised prior to these messages not to contact the woman. In one of the messages Edward called the victim a prostitute and a whore. He was issued an appearance ticket and he will appear in Naples Town Court at a later date to answer the charge.
