Canandaigua Police Department reports the arrest of Robert Smith, 53, of Canandaigua following an incident that took place on July 26, 2012 involving Smith assaulting another man in the parking lot off Lafayette Street. Smith was charged with assault in the third degree and petit larceny following an investigation. Smith allegedly stole cash that had fallen out of the victims pocket during the physical confrontation. Smith was released on an appearance ticket returnable to city court on 8/15/12 at 0830 hours.
