Yates County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a home on West Lake Road, Branchport for a reported house filling with smoke. Upon arrival Branchport Keuka Park FD had extinguished flames inside the south wall of the house. Investigation revealed the home owner had started a fire in the fire place which spread from the chimney into the wall causing damage. Both residents were able to exit the home and call 911.
