On 12/21/12 at about 10:30am, 53-year old Catherine Anthony of Naples came to the Ontario County Humane Society with a male 9 week old Jack Russell puppy that she claimed to have found as a stray. She filled out the paperwork claiming this as well. A few days later a gentlemen, an acquanitance of Anthony's came to the Humane Society at which time he identifed this puppy as the one he gave her as a Christmas gift. She later decided that she did not want the puppy and turned him in to the Humane Society claiming it was a stray that appeared to be sick. This puppy was found to be in good health. At this time the puppy was seized by the Humane Society. Anthony has been arrested and charged with Making a punishable false written statement (Penal Law -A. misd) and Interfering/Obstructing With Officers (Ag & Markets- Unclassifield Misd.). She will appear in Hopewell Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.
