On Wednesday, January 30, 201.3 one person was transported to Newark Wayne Hospital following a one vehicle property damage accident on Short Rd in the Town of Manchester. According to Ontario County Sheriffs Deputies, 58 year old David Mersinger, of Newark was traveling east on Short Rd when he exited the south shoulder of the roadway striking residents mailboxes. The vehicle came to rest in a grassy area on the south side of the roadway and responding Deputies observed that Mr. Mersinger was acting lethargic and not responding appropriately to verbal commands. Deputies contacted EMS and Mr. Mersinger was found to be undergoing a diabetic episode. Port Gibson Fire and Ambulance responded to the scene, transporting Mr. Mersinger for medical attention.
