On 2/23/13 at about 5:28pm Ontario County Sheriffs Deputies were patrolling westbound on State Route 5&20 in the Town of East Bloomfield near the intersection with State Route 444 when they drove up on a one car roll over MVA that just occurred. Deputies requested Fire and Ambulance assistance to the scene and East Bloomfield Town Fire and Ambulance along with Finger Lakes Ambulance responded. Deputies determined that 22 year old Daniel D. Swartz of East Bloomfield, NY was traveling home from work in his 2005 Buick LeSabre and was westbound on State Route 5&2Q. Mr. Swartz traveled off the south side of the roadway and struck a utility pole which caused his vehicle to overturn. Mr. Swartz was transported by East Bloomfield Town Ambulance to F.F. Thompson Hospital in the City of Canandaigua to be checked over. It is believed at this time that Mr. Swartz was uninjured from the accident and is expected to be released soon. Deputies investigation into the accident determined that Mr. Swartz had fallen asleep at the wheel. No other persons or vehicles were involved in the accident. RG&E responded to replace the broken utility pole. Mr, Swartz's vehicle was towed from the scene by Dobb's Auto out of the City of Canandaigua.
