On 03/03/13 at or about 5:37 PM Ontario County Sheriff's Office answered a personal injury vehicle accident that occurred, in front of 605 State Route 96 in the Town of Phelps. Linda T. Young of Waterloo was operating her 2010 Ford Edge east bound when she states her wheel pulled to the right causing her to go off the south shoulder of the road and go through a ditch before striking several small trees and coming to a rest. She suffered a hand injury as a result but refused any medical treatment at the scene. She was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident. Deputies did issue a citation for texting while driving as a result of the accident. She will answer the citation in Phelps Town Court on 03/27/13 at 7:00 PM. Phelps Fire Department also responded to the scene and assisted.
