Accident in Waterloo After Man Falls Asleep at Wheel

On May 23, 2013 at 1053 a.m. Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a personal injury auto accident at the intersection of State Route 5 and State Route 96a in the Town of Waterloo. A car driven by Donald C. Friday age 65 of 136 Washington Street Geneva, NY was slowing in traffic on State Route 5 in a easterly direction. A second vehicle alos easterly on State Route 5 operated by Emmett J. McMahon age 84 of 3464 Route 21 south Canandaigua came from behind and did not stop striking the Friday vehicle. Border City Fire Department and North Seneca Ambulance responded to assist at the scene. Friday was treated at the scene and then transported to Geneva General Hospital. According to Sheriff’s Deputies the cause of the accident was due to McMahon falling asleep behind the wheel. There were no other injuries reported and no tickets were issued.
