On July 20, 2013, at about 12:15 am the City of Canandaigua Police Department charged Jeffery A. Eley, age 33, of 45 Winton Avenue, Silver Springs, with possessing an open container of alcohol, harassment in the second degree, revisiting arrest and obstruction of governmental administration in the second degree.
Eley is accused of having open container of alcohol in front of the Villager Restaurant on South Main Street. Upon being approached by an officer Eley fled into the establishment where he physically resisted arrest. While being placed into a patrol car Eley struck an officer in the chest with an elbow. Shortly thereafter during the booking process, Eley again became aggressive with officers and again resisted being placed in handcuffs. After a Taser was deployed officers were able to handcuff Eley and transport him to the Ontario County Jail.
Eley was arraigned and remanded to the Jail in lieu of $500 cash $1,000 bond.
