To commemorate the history of the Eagle Scout Award and the significant achievement it symbolizes in a young Scout’s life, the Seneca Waterways Council Boy Scouts of America is hosting a Centennial Celebration Dinner on October 10th. The event will highlight the Eagle Scout Award’s strong legacy nationally as well as local Scouting achievements. Among the guest speakers will be the national Chief Scout Executive of the Boy Scouts of America, and Distinguished Eagle Scout, Wayne Brock.
WHEN: October 10th, 2012
Reception at 5:30pm with dinner program beginning at 6:30pm
WHERE: Rochester Riverside Convention Center
COST: $65 per person; Scouts aged 25 and younger are $40.00 per person.

Area executives and community leaders, all Eagle Scouts themselves, are among the volunteer leadership organizing the centennial celebration. They include: Mayor Thomas Richards (City of Rochester), Philip Saunders (Saunders Foundation) serve as honorary chairs with Dwight “Kip” Palmer (Palmer Food Services) serving as event chair. David H. Klein (Excellus, Inc.); Harris “Bud” Rusitzky (Greening Group); Charles Levengood (Seneca Park Zoo); Robert Kessler (Woods Oviatt Gilman); Jeff Halik (Roberts Communications); Gerald McCue (Merrill Lynch); Frank Strong (Trillium Group); Louis A. Langie, Jr. (retired – Chase Manhattan); and Council President, Ronald Knight (Harris Interactive) are also lending their leadership to organizing the event.

Seneca Waterways Council is also looking for all Eagle Scouts currently residing in their service area, which includes Monroe, Ontario, Wayne, Seneca, and Yates counties.
