Monday, April 1 2013 1:00 AM - 1:00 AM

PENN YAN, NY – The Yates County Non-Profit Alliance, still fresh off the griddle itself, launches an original, inaugural program next week when it hosts “Main Street Camp” during Spring Break week, from April 1st to April 5th.  Students around the ages of 8-12 are encouraged to participate in a week of fun, educational, and recreational workshops taking place in select locations on Main Street in Penn Yan, all of which are no or low cost. Kids are encouraged to sign up for the entire week (only $20) or for individual workshops (from $2-$5), but a certain number of drop-in participants will be accepted (though families are encouraged to call ahead).  Programs feature photography, arts and crafts, challenge games, history, natural science, and FUN!  Participating organizations include Cornell Cooperative Extension, The Finger Lakes Museum, The Arts Center, The Yates County Geneological and Historical Society, the Penn Yan Public Library, the First Baptist Church, Milly's Pantry, H.E.R.O, and The Community Center.  More information about programs and registration can be found at www.fingerlakesmuseum.org or by calling Mike Sullivan at 315-694-6922.
