Drip Irrigation for the Home Garden

480 North Main Street
Canandaigua, NY 14424

Canandaigua, NY-Last year's growing season was frustrating to many home gardeners as they watched their flower and vegetable plants wilt under the intense heat and dry conditions. Trying to keep pace with the watering demand was a challenge for many and impossible for others. Drip irrigation is a simple and practical way of irrigating your garden. It applies water slowly and directly to your plants, reducing the volume of water needed compared to an overhead sprinkler system. With drip irrigation, the plant foliage stays dry, thus less risk of disease. Join Master Gardener, Jeanne Totman on Tuesday, May 14, 2013, 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm at Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ontario County, 480 North Main Street, Canandaigua, NY 14424. Jeanne will discuss and demonstrate how to design, set up and use drip irrigation in the home garden. Increase your water efficiency, reduce plant diseases and increase your gardening success this year by installing a simple drip irrigation system and be rewarded with a bumper crop. The class fee is $5.00 per person. To register call, 585-394-3977 x 427 or email nea8@cornell.edu with your name, address and phone number.
