Are you looking for new ways to make eating healthy, nutritious meals that your kids will eat and enjoy? Would you like to learn how to spend less on good foods and free up money for other things? Would you like to spend more quality time with your child?  If you answered 'yes' to any of these questions then call now and sign up for the Cooking Matters for Families class series.
Cooking Matters for Families is a nationally recognized program sponsored by Share Our Strength geared to teach people how to shop on a budget, how to choose, buy and store fruits and vegetables and learn how to cook quick, healthy and tasty meals for you and your whole family. A professional volunteer Chef will teach new techniques and recipes while our dynamic Nutrition Educator teaches you the ins and outs or what to eat, how much of it to eat and how to choose super power foods that will feed your body the proper health it is looking for. "And to think all this time I convinced my children that they do not like vegetables merely by making that statement in ear-shot. I did not realize how my food likings (or dis-likes) influenced what I thought they liked. Now, I've learned to feed them veggies in every meal...and they love it!" stated one of the mother participants.
The Cooking Matters for Families classes will be held on Tuesdays from 4:30p-6:30p starting May 7th and ending June 11th. This class series will be held at Seneca County Cornell Cooperative Extension in Waterloo.  Dinner will be prepared and made by you and the professional chef! Plus, you'll get those same basic groceries to take home to recreate the same meal later in the week. Don't miss out on this opportunity! Advance registration is encouraged and appreciated so we can better plan for the classes. Space is limited! Just Call Devra Rivkin at Cornell Cooperative Extension at 315-539-9251.
