Excelsior Cornet Band (Authentic Civil War Brass Band)

When:  Sunday, October 27, 2013

Time:    2:00 PM

Where:  Willard Memorial Chapel, 17 Nelson St., Auburn, NY

Did you enjoy Stephen Spielberg's film “Lincoln”, and the way the cinematography, sets and music evoked this troubled time in our nation's history so beautifully?  If so, join us to hear Jeff Stockham, one of the musicians who performed in the film.  He and the Excelsior Coronet Band will perform at the Willard Memorial Chapel on Sunday, October 27, 2013 at 2 PM.

In tribute to abolitionist Harriet Tubman, this concert will feature original Civil War era band instruments playing music of the Civil War and Songs of Emancipation.   The Excelsior Cornet Band is New York State’s only authentic Civil War brass band.  There will be a display of civil war musical instruments and musical artifacts to examine after the concert.

Tickets for this concert are $10 per person and are available at Willard Chapel, 17 Nelson St., Auburn, N.Y. or by calling 315-252-0339. This concert is hosted by and is a benefit for the Community Preservation Committee and Willard Memorial Chapel.
