Montezuma Winery and the Montezuma Audubon Center present
Walking in a Winter Wineryland
Saturday, February 1, 2014 from 10:30am-2:30pm
Join Montezuma Winery and the Montezuma Audubon Center for the 7th annual Walking in a Winter Wineryland on Saturday, February 1 from 10:30am-2:30pm. Enjoy hiking, snowshoeing, a live bird presentation and a winemaker’s luncheon.
The day starts at Montezuma Winery where you will meet with a guide from the Audubon Center who will take you on a nature hike on snowshoes through a portion of the refuge for bird watching and tracking animals.
When you return to the winery you can warm up with mulled wine or hot chocolate followed by a winemaker’s luncheon paired with Montezuma Winery wines. Roast home-made marshmallows on an open fire and make your own smores for dessert. Following lunch will be a live birds of prey presentation by bird rehabilitator, Jean Soprano of Kindred Kingdom. Guests will learn about some of the area’s native birds of prey and their habitat and the importance of wildlife conservation and management.
Participants are invited to bring their own snowshoes or rentals are available on a first come first serve basis (snowshoes are not required for hiking). The cost for adults is $30/person without snowshoes or $35/person with snowshoe rental. Kids under 12 are $17 without snowshoes or $20 with snowshoe rental. A portion of the ticket sales will be donated to the Montezuma Audubon Center. Call Montezuma Winery at 315-568-8190 to make reservations. Space is limited! PRE-PAID RESERVATIONS REQUIRED prior to January 30th.
