About the presentation: 
The presentation offers a view of significant portions of terrestrial and marine areas of wild Alaska including Prince William Sound, Wrangell St. Elias National Park and the Gates of the Arctic National Park with emphasis on outdoor activity. The revelation of character and activities of the five participants offers a human interest dimension with ultimate resolution of less than parallel expectations.
About the presenter:
Marty Dodge, Professor of Conservation FLCC (retired)
Marty Dodge grew up in Connecticut, earned a BA in Chemistry from Colby College in Maine and an MF in Forestry from Utah State University. He taught middle school science for two years in Thomaston Maine, served three years as a deck watch officer aboard the USCG Cutter Sedge out of Cordova Alaska and has offered over 30 different courses including Ecology, Environmental Science, Small Woodlot Management and Wilderness Survival at FLCC during his 39 years as a teacher there. Marty most enjoyed the 43 FLCC travel ecology courses of two to five weeks duration to the Florida Everglades, Costa Rica, Belize and Alaska. Marty started the FLCC Woodsmen’s team in 1974 and coached the men’s and women’s teams to a total of 33 championships. Marty has served as a consulting forester and has designed and helped to construct numerous area Nature Interpretive Trail Systems. He is a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Canandaigua. Marty served for a total of nine years as a Scoutmaster in Thomaston, Maine, Cordova, Alaska and Naples, New York.
