Did you know that bats are flying mammals? Bats are nocturnal, do you know what that means? Bats navigate by using echolocation, find out what that is.
Seneca County 4-H is hosting a Let’s Get Batty workshop in January. The event will be held on Wednesday, January 18th from 6 PM to 8 PM. It will be held at the Cornell Cooperative Extension Office, 3rd floor of the Main Street Shop Centre in Waterloo.
The presenter for the evening is Gregory Flood. Flood is a wildlife Biologist with the Finger Lakes National Forest. He is excited to engage Seneca County youth in Outdoor Education.
The workshop will talk about bats, their function, species native to New York, and habitats. There will be a hands-on bat center activity as well!
This workshop is open to all Seneca County youth between the ages of 5 and 19. You do not need to be an enrolled 4-H member to participate in this event.
