The tree is situated in the lobby by the main entrance of the Hospital, 418 North Main Street, Penn Yan. Each donation represents a gift of loving, sharing and remembering.

The ornament will bear the remembered person’s name and the donor’s name.

Mobile Meals Volunteers Sought
1:00 AM - 1:00 AM

Geneva General Hospital is looking for regularly scheduled volunteers for its Mobile Meals program. Volunteers typically choose one day a week to be scheduled.

Deliveries are made in the City and Town of Geneva, Monday through Friday, year round, excluding major holidays (Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day.)  A Mobile Meals volunteer arrives at the hospital at 10 a.m. and the route takes approximately 1-2 hours, depending on the number of recipients. Drivers provide their own cars and must have a valid NYS driver’s license (mileage is tax deductible.) Servers take the meal to the door.

The Mobile Meals program provides two nutritious meals each delivery day as well as personal contact for people whom otherwise might become isolated in their own homes. For more information about how to become a volunteer, call Christen Smith in the Community Services department at Geneva General Hospital, (315) 787-4065.

Teasel Tree Workshop
6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Teasel Tree Workshop

Wednesday, December 7, 2016

6:00pm – 8:00 pm

Cornell Cooperative Extension, 480 North Main Street, Canandaigua, NY

This is a workshop open for all youth. Youth under 10 need to have a parent participate with them.

Teasel is a common biennial "weed" that has distinctive spiny flower heads. Teasel is commonly found in fields and meadows and along the roadside. They are more conspicuous in the fall after the flowers have dried and turned to a beautiful golden brown. The stiff prickly stems are great additions to natural fall arrangements.  Come join Ontario County Master Gardener, Jeanne Totman as she assists participants using teasels to make holiday trees that look just like real little spruce trees! Gloves would be helpful.

Fee: $5.00/per youth

Register: contact Nancy at 585-394-3977 x 427 or email nea8@cornell.edu with name, address, phone number, and number attending.
