Auburn Going To Bat For The Doubledays

The City of Auburn has to go to bat for the Doubledays. The City Council this week will discuss a request from the club for a 125-thousand dollar loan to pay off vendors and suppliers. The team is owned by the City and operated by a group called Auburn Community Baseball. City Manager Doug Selby says Community Baseball wants to stabilize the franchise.

Attendance was way off this summer. Only 39-thousand fans when through the turnstiles at Falcon Park this summer compared to 55-thousand last year.
