State Giving Canandaigua $1.5 Million For Lake Shore Clean Up

Most of us remember the area north of Lakeshore Drive in Canandaigua filled with trees and scrub brush up until the last couple of years.

So you might  be surprised to learn what's lying underneath. The State through an REDC grant is giving the City a 1.5 million dollars  to clean up a designated  Brownfield site where developers want to put the North Shore project.

Assistant City Manager Brian White says 70-80-90 years ago that area was a dumping ground.
