The Finger Lakes Freeze Early, Make for Great Ice Fishing

We all know it has been freezing lately.  It’s literally freezing the Finger Lakes.  This season’s early freeze has led to an increase in ice fishing.  There are lots of fishermen out on the ice, taking advantage of the situation, but anglers say the fish are slow to bite, believing it is due to the cold snap.  Canandaigua Lake rarely freezes completely, on average once every 11 years, but if February is anything like January, the Canandaigua watershed manager says there may be a chance it freezes completely.
