Rochester Charity To Replace Flood Damaged Toys For Needy Kids In Penn Yan

They are getting in the Christmas spirit early. Last month, over a thousand toys intended to be given away during Penn Yan's annual "Christmas for the Needy" program were destroyed by the massive flooding. Rochester's Pirate Toy Fund is holding a special collection Friday at Market Place Mall in  Henrietta to see if they can replace the lost toys. Fund founder and executive Gary  "the Happy Pirate" Smith says they are more than happy to help out.

They will be collecting at Market Place from 5am to 7:30pm. Unwrapped toys can also be dropped off at any of the Pirate Toy Fund's regular toy drop-off locations at Eastview Mall, the Mall at Greece Ridge, and the National Museum of Play. Donations should be labeled "Penn Yan Christmas for the Needy." Monetary donations to purchase toys may also be made here.
