Congressman Katko Addresses Water Issues

Congressman John Katko today used the backdrop of Owasco Lake to outline his efforts in Congress to address the many water issues facing not only his district and the Finger Lakes, but the entire nation.  Joined by Auburn Mayor Michael Quill, Owasco Town Supervisor Ed Wagner and Cayuga County Legislature Chair Keith Batman, Katko said there's a need to be proactive as communities face a multitude of challenges.

He praised the efforts of local governments and watchdog groups.

His efforts address not only the algal bloom crisis in Owasco Lake, but also the invasion of Hydrilla weed in Cayuga Lake, flooding and shoreline erosion along Lake Ontario and crumbling water infrastructure across Central New York.
