Thunderstorms Cause Havoc In the Finger Lakes

Strong thunderstorms yesterday pounded the Finger Lakes Region. Just after 4:30, storms moved through Ontario and Seneca Counties, knocking down trees and utility poles. Damage was reported on East Lake Road in Fayette and Varick. Some trees were also knocked down in Geneva. Central New York saw golf ball sized hail.  

A tree is knocked over on the Hobart and William Smith campus.

Trees came down at the near Glenwood Cemetary in Geneva.

Hard rain falls in Fayette along Route 96A.

Trees and wires down along Route 336 in Seneca County.

NYSEG crews were busy yesterday as they repaired the damage.
