AUBURN -- Former Auburn mayor Melina Carnicelli has joined the Board of Trustees at Cayuga Community College; she was appointed by Gov. Cuomo.
Carnicelli was a teacher, in the Auburn school system, before becoming mayor in 1999. She is the first, and only, female mayor in the history of Auburn.
Ten people serve on the CCC board -- four appointed by the Governor, five appointed by the Cayuga County Legislature; each serves seven-year terms. There is also a student trustee, who has a one-year term.
Cayuga Community College's Board of Trustees is chaired by John Camardo, who's also on the Auburn City Council.
