Fourteen corrections officers took part in a graduation ceremony held May 1, 2012 at the Seneca County Sheriffs Office in Romulus. New York. The officers representing Sheriffs Offices from Seneca. Ontario. Yates and Wayne County have been attending a seven-week basic corrections officer academy sponsored and delivered by the Seneca County Sheriffs Office.

Sheriffs Ronald Spike (Yates). Barry Virts (Wayne). Chief Corrections Officer Alice Haskins (Ontario) joined Seneca County Sheriff Jack Stenberg and Undersheriff Gary Sullivan in conferring certification on the graduating corrections officers. Joining them were Seneca County Manager Mitchell Rowe and Supervisors Lee Davidson (Lodi). Gary Westfall (Waterloo) and Donald Earle (Seneca Falls).
"This is the fourth basic academy we have sponsored and delivered here in Seneca County not only for our officers, but also to our neighboring counties. We have demonstrated that it cost beneficial to train officers locally rather than having to send them out of county for this required mandated training. Our basic corrections academy has continuously received high marks from the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services which oversees law enforcement and corrections training programs", said Sheriff Jack Stenberg.
