SCRIBA -- A Oswego County woman has been arrested for allegedly assaulting her elderly mother.
53-year-old Patricia Hanifan of Scriba is accused of choking her 93-year-old mother, during an argument; police say Hanifan grabbed her mother's throat, while standing behind her, and squeezed. The victim has now been moved to a safer home.
Hanifan was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing, which is now a felony in New York state; her bail was set at $500.
