The New York State School Boards Association reports today that 96.4 percent of school district budgets voted on Tuesday were approved . That's 651 of 675 School districts . For districts staying within the tax cap the passage rate was 99% and for those that wanted to exceeding the tax cap the approval rate was 60% ..
Association Executive Director Tim Kremer says voters will say yes if they see spending being controlled .
Kremer cautioned that with dwindling reserve funds, districts are going to need significant mandate relief from the state
