16 New York City Fresh Air Fund kids arrive in the Finger Lakes Monday to spend a portion of the summer with host families in Newark, Middlesex, Homer, Canandaigua, Penfield, Palmyra, Clifton Springs, Fairport, Seneca Falls, and Sodus.
Local Fresh Air Committee member Susan Porter says hosting a Fresh air child has been a way of life for her since she was little.
The visitors are treated to all sorts of adventures.
The Fresh Air Fund is an independent, not-for-profit agency that has provided free summer vacations for low income children since 1877.
