The world famous Hill Cumorah Pageant opens it's 75th year Friday night at 9:15 on the hillside just off Route 21 in between Manchester and Palmyra. Hill Cumorah is where Joseph Smith is said to have received the golden plates in 1827 that were translated into the Book of Mormon.
Pageant President Dwight Schendeman tells us the show attracts in the the neighborhood of 33-thousand people a year. That number could go up this time because of the milestone anniversary.
As it has been in the past the Pageant is still free.
