Arrests have been made in connection with the two burglary investigations in the Town of Sterling. According to Sheriff David Gould in early June 4 young adults entered the finished recreation room inside a barn on Sterling Station Road and stole several bottles of liquor.
Among those arrested were:
Jacob M. Steurrys age 18 of 539 Wilcox St. Fair Haven- arrested 6/27/12

Alexis S. Rivera age 19 of 3 Nestle Ave.Fulton – arrested 06/27/12

Heather M. Mack age 21 of 1332 Rt. 104A Sterling- arrested 06/28/12
-all three were charged with Burglary in the third degree (felony) and Petit Larceny (misdemeanor). All three were arraigned in local criminal courts and remanded to the Cayuga County Jail. All three have since been released.
Charles R. “Chuck” Bennett age 20 of 1132 Rt. 104A Sterling- arrested 07/19/12- charged with Criminal Possession of stolen property in the fifth degree (misdemeanor) in connection with the above burglary.
Bennett was also charged 7/19/2012 in connection with the burglary of a residence on Rt. 104A in the Town of Sterling where several thousand dollars worth of coins, stamps, a firearm and other property were stolen through forcible entry, over a period of a month. For that incident Bennett was charged with Burglary in the 2nd degree (felony) and Grand Larceny 4th degree (felony). He was arraigned today in the Town of Sterling Court and remanded to the Cayuga County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash or 20,000 bond.
