Ithaca Man Stabbed in Neck for Debit Card

Officers responded to the area of 210 Cecil A Malone Drive, commonly known as The Jungle, for a report of a stabbing early this morning.

Upon arrival officers found a 57 year old white male conscious lying near his tent bleeding from his neck. As Officer arrived, several residents were attempting to render aid to the victim.

As the scene was secured, Bangs Ambulance and Ithaca Fire Department personnel responded into the scene to treat the victim’s injuries. The victim was transported to CMC for initial treatment, however due to the laceration to his neck; he was later transported to a Hospital in Syracuse for advanced level of treatment.

The investigation at this point has revealed that the victim was asleep, alone, in his tent when he was suddenly attacked without cause. A struggle then ensued where the assailant or assailants cut the victim multiple times with a sharp object then stole his ATM card and fled the scene.

NO suspect(s) description was provide or able to be obtained at this point.

The victim's name is being withheld at this time but is currently in guarded but stable condition.
