A day long trial held earlier this week in Urbana Town Court saw a jury rule that Keuka Maid owner Robert Pfuntner is a squatter.
Pfunter's dinner boat has been docked in Urbana since it failed to complete an inspection after new federal safety standards were issued in 2006. The town has been trying to evict the Maid since 2009. When operational, Pfunter used to pay rent to the town to dock the Maid.
Pfunter attempted to have the Maid moved to Penn Yan last year, but was ordered back to Steuben County by Yates County Sheriff's Deputies.
The Dundee-Observer reports both sides will have until Aug. 6th to submit memorandums of law to the court for the final verdict, which will be made Aug. 10.
