A Madison County jury deliberated for three hours Thursday before it found a 49 year old Dundee man guilty of three counts each of rape and endangering the welfare of a child charges.
Edward Dean testified he lied when he told the victim's mother and police he had sex with the 15 year old victim and claimed he told the girl he would admit to being the father of her unborn baby and marry her so they could receive health insurance. Dean and the victim's family have known each other for five years.

However, in a taped phone conversation and in text messages with the victim's mother, Dean told a different story, including leaving a message that read quote, "nothing can be said or done to make any of this right."
Dean will be sentenced September 26th, but his legal troubles won't end there. He now faces additional federal charges of producing child pornography and transporting a minor across state lines to engage in sexual activity.
