Car deer accidents are pretty common on country roads and rural highways this time of the year but have you ever considered how much more dangerous it might be if you clip a deer on the Thruway.

The New York State Thruway Authority and New York State Police Troop T have put out their annual "antler alert" . Troop T Sgt . Tom Ferritto tells us drivers have to be vigilant through the fall .

The Thruway Authority says 2011 was pretty bad with more that 22-hundred car-deer crashes.
