30 FL Area Red Cross Volunteers Heading to NYC

The Finger Lakes Region of the American Red Cross has deployed nearly 30 volunteers to White Plains  today. From there the volunteers will receive their assignments and move into the regions most affected by Hurricane Sandy, specifically Long Island, Metro New York City and  the five boroughs. Spokesperson Erin Caldwell says each volunteer has an area of expertise.

Health and mental health professionals have also been dispatched.

Relief efforts are expected to last several weeks.

The best way for you to help is to donate at 1-800-Red Cross, on line at redcross.org or by text the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a 10 dollar contribution.
