Ithaca Police arrested a 37 year old Ithaca man in connection with a bomb scare on the Commons last month.
Matthew Whitney was charged with felony placing a false bomb or hazardous substance. Investigators with the FBI say a suspicious package with the word "bomb" printed on it was located October 11th outside the Bank of America building on The Commons. Police evacuated the area and several downtown businesses for hours.
After being arraigned, Whitney was released pending further court action.
