The City of Geneva this morning announced terms for a proposed lease with the Finger Lakes Boating Museum for space in the city owned building that will be shared with the Chamber's new Visitor's Center. The tentative lease would have a nominal rent of a dollar a year for 20 years with other terms to be considered later. The Museum would have to pay operational costs of its space and the pro-rated cost of shared space.
The City Council will have to ratify the the deal once they can verify project financing and progress on fund raising. Construction bids are expected to be awarded in December with ground breaking after that. Construction would be done by Labor Day 2013.
