The SS Minnow had a three hour tour, and last night the weekly city council meeting was almost a three hour marathon. The bulk of the meeting was spent on a presentation of a Mill Street Dam project. A few people from Seimens Industry told the council that the time is right to replace the aging turbine with a new generator because of energy prices and regulatory conditions.
Three options were presented, with heavy emphasis on the 2nd option. That would replace the current turbune that isn't working with a generator capable of producing roughly 2,200 megawatts hours every year.
No vote took place, just discussion. But the engineers suggested making a decision fast, because the dam has to be functional by next September to receive a state grant.
