Watkins Fire Dept. Dropping Off Goods to Sandy Victims

Donated goods ranging from clothes, water and even a guitar, will soon be dropped off to victims of Hurricane Sandy by members of the Watkins Glen Fire Department.  About a half dozen members will be making the trip to New York City today to drop off donations that have been coming from all over the Southern Tier since last weekend.  Fire Chief Dominick Smith says he's proud of the members of his department that came up with this initiative....

Smith says the funding to transport the goods is all out of pocket

The collection drew such a huge response from area residents, the Monday deadline to donate was pushed back until Thursday.
