Woman Charged with 1st Degree Attempted Robbery in Ithaca

Just before 3 o'clock this morning, Wendy Kastenhuber was arrested for threatening an employee at Tops with a knife, demanding money and cigarettes. The employee, whose name has been been released, sounded an alarm and ran out of the store, with other employees following. Officers responded quickly, and arrested the 39-year-old.

Kastenhuber was charged with 1st degree attempted robbery, and will be arraigned in court later today.
