4 Geneva Officers Hurt In Schuffle with Walworth Man

4 Geneva Police Officers were hurt and a Walworth man is sitting in jail with a 100-thousand dollar bail. Just after 2 this morning Geneva Police with help from State Police and the Ontario County Sheriffs Office arrested 26 year old Dustin Vernon Gomes after he lead police on a car and foot chase. When nabbed Gomes attacked officers, biting one and hitting another in the nose. Those officers were treated and released from Geneva General.



In the scuffle Gomes tried to grab two of the officers weapons. Gomes is charged with 2 counts of assaulting an officer, 2 counts resisting, two counts criminal possession of a weapon and more than a dozen traffic infractions. Gomes was apprehended on Monroe Avenue in Geneva. He is back in court tomorrow (TUESDAY) at 9.
