The investigation into Thursday's helicopter crash is continuing. Two men were killed in that crash that happened near the Chemung River in the city of Corning. The helicopter, contracted by New York State Electric and Gas Corporation. The National Transportation Safety Board visited the crash site Saturday. NTSB crews picked up all of the wreckage from the crash.
The crash killed 42-year old Dale Crout a local NYSEG worker from Watkins Glen who was inspecting power lines from the helicopter. His pilot, 24 year old Mackenzie Bleth from the state of Oregon, was also killed. Corning Fire Chief John Tighe says the NTSB will take the wreckage to Delaware to see what they can find out.
