Grand Jury Indictment For Geneva Couple

Seneca County District Attorney Barry Porsch announced that a Seneca County Grand Jury has voted an indictment charging Christine L. Maddox and Gary A. Goodman, both of Geneva, with criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree (class D felony) and criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree (class E felony).
The maximum possible sentence on the weapon count is seven years.
The indictment alleges that on September 28, 2012, Maddox and Goodman unlawfully possessed two stolen firearms consisting of a Mossberg .22 caliber firearm and an AK-47-style 7.62 caliber assault rifle. Goodman was also indicted for not wearing a safety belt, a traffic infraction.
The indictment resulted from a traffic stop conducted by Seneca Falls Police Officers. Maddox and Goodman will be arraigned in Seneca County Court on November 26, 2012.
The indictment is merely an accusation and the defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
