You've heard of Black Friday, and probably Cyber Monday, but what about Small Business Saturday? The Better Business Bureau is suggesting that you save your gas and support local businesses by shopping close to home today. Peggy Penders spoke with us on the phone, and she explained the special shopping day.
Check your neighborhood retailers for their weekend bargains. There probably won't be as much hustle and bustle and shoving like on Black Friday, and your neighborhood store may be able to guarantee a price for you, even if you decide to buy it later.

And when shopping for deals this holiday season, it's important to read the fine print. Peggy says you have to be careful when shopping during Cyber Monday and anytime you shop online.
She also recommends doing some comparative shopping before making that final purchase.
And sometimes that one gift we bought for someone may not be returnable for money, or may not be returned at all. Peggy says stores in NY are required to post Return & Exchange policies, so you should be paying close attention to them. If they aren't available, make sure to ask.
If you have an electronic and you aren't sure if you want to keep it, DON'T OPEN THE PACKAGE. If you've opened a secure package, you might not be able to return it or there may be a "Restocking Fee." Read the fine print and make sure you save those gift receipts.
