A Geneva man was discovered to be an illegal alien after a Yates County Sheriff's Deputy observed an occupied vehicle parked at a business on Rt 14 in the Town of Starkey that was closed at the time. Upon checking the occupants it was determined that 18-year old Carlos Gonzalez Palomares of Geneva is in the country illegally. Palomares was arrested and brought to the Yates County Public Safety Building, where he was later turned over to US Customs and Immigration Enforcement. The other two occupants of the vehicle were found to be in the country legally and were released at the scene.
