An emergency room doctor who worked at Schuyler Hospital has been arrested on federal drug charges. 62 year old Dr. Daniel Gillick of Youngstown was arraigned last Wednesday on misdemeanor crack cocaine charges.
Last week, a 27 year old Youngstown woman was found to be in possession of crack cocaine after she was pulled over by special agents with the Drug Enforcement Administration. She told agents she bought the drugs for Gillick and they'd planned on using that night. A search of Gillick's home turned up drug paraphernalia and other evidence consistent with drug use.
In a statement, Schuyler Hospital officials say Gillick no longer works there. If convicted, Gillick faces a year behind bars.
