Update: Geneva Police Investigate Shooting and Robbery

Geneva Police are investigating an apparent shooting and robbery that occurred Tuesday night shortly before 8pm. 

According to city police, a resident heard a gunshot and then saw a man, who allegedly told the witness he was the victim of a robbery and had been shot in the area of North Genesee Street, near Gates Avenue. Police say the victim, described as being a 6 foot tall white male with a mustache, was shot in the leg.



The suspects are described as a 2 Hispanic Males, Suspect 1 with a grey hoodie and Suspect 2 with a blue hoodie run to the area of Avenue E, Geneva. No further suspect description. 

The witness said the man ran past him and got into a red Ford Taurus and left the scene.

A thorough search for the suspects and victim in the area of the alleged shooting and surrounding areas proved negative. A canvas of all area hospitals in a three county area have proved negative at this time.

Based upon information received in the investigation, the victim was shot in the leg and was dragging his leg when he got into the Taurus.

Due to night sporting events, Geneva High & North Street Schools were placed in lock down while the canvas and K-9 Search were being conducted in the direct area. Both schools were released at approximately 9pm with no further incident.
