Manchester Man in Accidental Shooting Listed as Satisfactory

As of this morning a Manchester man is in satisfactory condition at Strong Memorial Hospital after an accidental shooting accident Saturday.  According to Ontario County Sheriff's 38 year old Jason Bliven attempted to put a handgun in a gun safe at his residence Saturday when the gun fell on the floor and a round discharged.  The round hit Bliven in the right side of his chest and exited the right shoulder area.  Ontario County Sheriff Phil Povero says there are a few things to remember in gun safety.

It's also important for everyone, even those who don't use guns to have a general knowledge to prevent any accidental shooting.

Preliminary investigation reveals the shooting was an accident.  The sheriff’s office is continuing to investigate.
